You may have done a language exchange before but there is no need to limit it to your native language. For example, let's say you want to keep your Japanese but also learn some French. Well you can look for French Japanese exchange centers where you can offer Japanese conversation which is more common than you think. Speaking your second language with a complete beginner can be an eye-opener and a huge motivation boost. You'll realize how much you know and push yourself to be more accurate.

It's impossible to forget a language but instead of the usual meetup groups you can look for events in the language you are learning.  institutions in your target language such as the Alliance Française, Goethe-Institut Japan, Foundation for International Exchange, check out their events section and sign up for their mailing list. They often form societies that hold events in a specific language and have mailing lists and groups. Look, for example, at the Thai Society at SOAS London. Attending an event like this is one of the best ways to get out of the learning mindset and really experience the language.
